Snarky Corsair Smug Rogue Aspiring Privateer

Tanu has set out away from the K tribe eager to prove his own standing. Not content being chained by the societal status of Tia for the rest of his life he seeks to grow through independence, eagerly wishing to prove his tribe wrong. Yearning to show he is more capable than what many back home had initially assumed. He's full of bravado and has a lot to prove, a thrill seeker wanting for adventure at his very core.

Background

Early years - Born to the K (Hipparion) as not only the second son and a handful of sisters but a runt as well. He wasn't as strong nor was he as fast as his brother but the boy's curiosity was insatiable and unmatched.
He eventually learned all the trades that was expected of him though at a much slower pace than his siblings. As Tanu continued to grow he begun to realize the shackle of his societal standing within his tribal life. As Tia he would be stuck in place, nor would his family allow him to travel the star on his own accord.
Once he came of age, the Tia was struck with a flash of independence. He left his tribe to travel the wider world he had only heard so many stories about. His goal is to gain independence, to prove his tribe wrong. That he'd one day return with the confidence that he is more than they assumed he could be.

Freedom - The Tia struggled to get by, arrogance and stubborness wasn't enough for the Seeker to survive out on his own. He was practically a begger on the streets of Limsa at a young age. Though, a member of the Rogue's Guild would take interest in the Tia.
A stroke of luck was enough for the Seeker to make the efforts in turning his life around. He spent the next years of his life under the guidance of his new teacher.
He picked up a lot from both the guild and the city itself. From his way of speech to his body language, his ideals and moral compass are all born from them as well. It wasn't as easy as he'd hoped but the taste of freedom was well worth the hardship. He was drawn to the open seas, to the Maelstrom, to privateering. It represented everything he desired.

Currently - Now Tanu is out on his own, his mentor granting him permission to truly earn the independence he seeks on his own accord. His skillset is based on his dexterity and cunning, an excellent scout, quick on his feet, and can hold his own in a fight.
When the situation demands surreptitiousness and a more covert approach is also within his reach. He takes as many jobs as he can, freelance work never allowing the Seeker any levity to be picky with what jobs he takes.
He's pretty open to most work, whether it be a simple monster hunt, odd jobs as a bartender, or simple bodyguard duties.
Though, Tanu has deep ties to Ul'dah's criminal underground. He loathes the act but monetarists pay well enough, much to his dismay. Willing to act in secrecy, serving as an expendable body for the right amount of gil. His current goal is to ground himself and find a more stable line of work.

Hooks

Ul'dahn Underground- Tanu finds his most frequent work in Uldah's seedy criminal underbelly. This can go a multitude of ways! Maybe you're in need of a Rogue with a certain skillset or you can try to apprehend him if your character is aligned more 'lawfully'.Tribal Miqo'te - A more specific hook. But Tanu doesn't necessarily despise other tribal Miqo'te. He finds more avid curiosity in the other tribes and a sense of nostalgia if he runs into another denizen of the K tribe. Though, he'll make it known he prefers his current 'city' lifestyle compared to the one he had before.Camaraderie - A growing priority for Tanu. He misses the sense of family he had grown accustomed to in Limsa. He's certainly confident out to be on his own but the lingering sense of loneliness is starting to get the better of him. If a mercenary group or anything akin to it offers him a permanent spot he'll be quick to join. (Can also work with one person! Having a 'partner' in crime so to speak would help his woes. But this hook also doubles as a call to any rp fc's as well! So if anyone needs a little arrogant runt of a rogue in their party feel free to shoot a message!)Gambling - He grew up around pirates and sailors. He knows a handful of party tricks, dice games, and plays cards. He knows how to pass the time, though his habit of attempting to swindle and cheat has gotten him in trouble. Maybe he's wronged you in the past over a faulty game of cards.Limsan - He views other Limsan's as more of his kin than his own tribe. He'd practically be jumping for joy if he figures out you come from the same place he calls a second home. Bonus points if you're a member of the Maelstrom or are a Privateer/Pirate.

OOC

General - Thanks for reading! This carrd is still a massive work in progress and though its a bit of a hefty read there's still tons more about Tanu I haven't talked about in here! There's so much more to him that I'd rather save for a scene in writing! So please, if this has interested at all even in the slightest I'd love to know. Just shoot a tell and I'll get to you as soon as I can!Preferences - My ideal goal for Tanu is to have a long-term plot that helps both your character and mine as well! A good story with character arcs, development, etc. takes a lot of commitment but it's so worth it if you can pull it off. Though, that being said one-shots and short-term are definitely good as well! I just love writing so even if I do have a preference no need to feel obligated for something in the longer term. That RP - Yes, I ERP. It's just fun to me! Especially when there's character writing and build up involved. But I can find myself in a mood to write one off smut from time to time so don't be afraid to blunt with your intentions on an approach. I'm /c/ompletely open minded and I won't judge. Chances are if you're nice and there's a good idea I'll probably say yes.IC/OOC - Standard stuff you've seen a thousand times before. I am not Tanu. I do not condone Character Bleeds. I'd love to make friends but I am definitely not looking for a romantic relationship. I know Tanu can have a pretty big mouth but don't take it personally! It's all IC and you're free to fire back, in fact I'm sure the little runt would probably like it.Writer Is 21+ So I do expect people who wish to interact to be the same. Especially since 18+ themes and topics are often present with Tanu.
